Description:
The above is an illustration of the set up of
the system. Our Sony TRV27 Digital Camcorder feeds
video of our guests (standing in front of a green
screen) into the computer. The computer applies
real-time image manipulation algorithms and special
effects on the video input, combined with 3D graphics,
and then outputs to the projector. The computer
flips the video horizontally so that when the
projector displays the final output on the projection
screen, the guests are mirrored. The green screen
is best placed a few feet from the guests, ideally
with its own lighting (not shown here) to reduce
shadows for a more uniform appearance. The LEDs
which the guests hold are used as separate input
devices, which the computer searches the video
for (and reacts accordingly, i.e, creates bubbles,
stars, etc where the LEDs appear on screen).
