This week our technology sub group is working really hard solving the last problem – Unity- Client. Developing a Unity-client is the last mile of the long exploration path. However, it is in an uncharted territory: Nobody has ever done it before. All of the existing gabriel projects were developed in Android Studio or Python except for one Hololens project.
We worked closely with the senior scientist in Prof. Satya’s team and explored different directions:
- Connect Unity to Android client
- Isolate the c# scripts in gabriel-instruction
- Import the android-client to unity as a library (arr)
- Import a unity project to Android Studio as a library
- Call python-client from Unity
- Call android-client from Unity
- Write a new server-client communication
- Translate the python-client to c#
On the other hand, our game sub group is iteration on both demo, game play demo, and body tracking demo. Let’s see what we got right now:
Next week is half, we are tightening up our project, and really looking forward to everyone’s 1/2 presentation!
