Week 1: We are ReAct!

We are ReAct!

Who is Team ReAct?

It’s a squad consist of five students from ETC class 2021 and 2022. Arnav Banerji, Muzi Wang, and Shuqi Yang are second-year students. They bring their experiences of previous projects to this team and guiding the other two teammates, David Morales and LiangYen (Leo) Chou, to adapt fast to their first ETC project. Leading by inspiring Faculty Brenda Harger and Ralph Vituccio, team ReAct can access the most critical resources, mentors’ advice, and experts’ knowledge.

Under pandemic circumstances, we recommend working remotely, especially the ETC building is only for limited access. The only challenge is not just lack of in-person contact but also time zone differences. One of our teammates locates in China, and another one is living in Huston. However, we take those challenges as an opportunity to force us to get used to working in a global environment. Learning how to teamwork and how to empower by technology are believed to be the purpose at ETC.

What is Project Time Square?

In brief, it’s a project about next-generation show experience and its proof of concept. Broadway theaters are looking for innovative venues and breakthrough technology to support them in adapting to pandemic impact and health care constraints. As one of those pioneers, our client, ODEON, is designing a musical experience featuring an outdoor venue and enhancing technology interaction.

We assume people in the feature are less likely to sit inside the theater(public health) and spend a long time on a musical(time fragment and lack of attention). An intense and technical fascinated show at an outdoor venue might take over market share as a replacement.

What are we going to do?

The vision of “Ready Player One” or a world like “Pokemon GO” will come true in the long run because technology can expand space dimensions and break geometric boundaries. It’s a big story, and we want to be part of it. I hope our works could lay a foundation for the future.
