Updates
The soft opening brought us much feedback. But the volume of feedback was a bit more than what can be iterated upon. So we had to choose which ones we would incorporate. This week, we also conducted our final live-over-zoom playtest with Laurel Highlands Middle School. This time, it was with 6th-grade students.
Our takeaway from testing with all three age groups revealed a very important fact. 6th graders have just entered middle school and lack a certain level of maturity that 8th graders have. They are about to enter into high school and have a much better sense of the world than their 6th and 7th grade counterparts.
Due to this distinction, they thought that the game was actually about healthy food habits instead.
Design
We completed the design for the final chapter and integrated it into the game. A few of the difficulties in navigation were also addressed. We decided to shorten the content of Ryan’s post on Meowwer so that the player did not have to scroll the see the whole post.
This was done to not draw attention away from the post’s author section, as the authority of the author was the major issue on that page.
Tech
We documented our entire framework and modules and also added how-to sections for all the design tools that we created over the course of the project.
Wrapping Up
In the upcoming week, we will be adding polish to our game and wrap up our project’s documentation, trailer, and post-mortem.
