This week we successfully complete the 1/4 walkthrough with all the faculties. Many of them showed great interests in our project and offered valuable suggesions on possible directions we can choose to go.

After the quarters, we had a team meeting to decide our approaches before halves. We quickly went around the feedback we got from faculties and decided to focus on one effect first. We chose the car dumper as our main focus before halves. It is a effect that is really hard to explain through plain texts or still images. With the completion of that particular effect, we will develop an efficient developing pipeline, and also show the demo to our clients to get their approval on moving forward. We then discussed and distributed tasks to each team member.

We’ve also tried several technologies that we thought could assist our production. First of all, we bought a camera that can scan the space and create a data cloud for us to gain the accurate parameter of objects. We have successfully scanned the room, but we haven’t find a way to actually read the data yet. Also, we tried the Unreal Metahuman creator, which is a powerful online human creating software with rigged models to download. We haven’t fully committed to put human in our AR worlds yet, but as we only have one artist on the team, we thought this software would help a lot if we want to actually put human figures in.

At the end of the week, under Sheenu’s hardwork and a group discussion, we also decided on a team logo as below.

Logo – Molten Corps
