During this week, we start to test and iterate our project at the Carrie Blast Furnace. We’ve tested twice, one with tour guides from our clients, the other with an actual tour. We’re really glad that both tour guides and tourists love our experience a lot. We noticed that there are still some problems with our calibration system that we need to try to restart the app multiple times in order for a perfect alliance with the surronding. However, when it fits into the surrondings, the experience is really great. We will fix the calibration system in next week and find a way to share the calibration data from tour guides’ end to tourists’ end.
We’ve also designed the UI for our two scenes. For scene 1, we want it to be modular so that tour guides can choose to skip any part they don’t want to talk about.
But for scene 2, as we want to tell a chemical chain of steel making, we think it should be more linear rather than modular. That’s why we changed the UI design into a more linear way.
We wrapped up everything together and created a draft version of our trailer.
For the upcoming soft week, we plan to showcase our work on site. We have everything in scene 1 finished and we’ll start to put everything in scene 2 together into a whole experience.
