 <\/p>\n

City of Stars is an Entertainment Technology Center project that aims to utilize mixed reality in helping visitors to Pittsburgh and locals alike become more familiar with the constellation of diverse individuals who\u2019ve put the Steel City on the map. Over the course of a semester, we will be working with clients Nancy Johnson and Prentiss Orr to build a supplemental app for a future walk of fame located in downtown Pittsburgh. <\/span><\/h4>\n

While many walks of fame provide experiences that solely involve encountering honorees\u2019 names and\/or reading through text-heavy plaques (which can be difficult to update or hard to see), our app will allow for a higher level of interaction between visitors and installation. <\/span>Using image recognition technology, we aim to bring each Pittsburgh Walk of Fame honoree\u2019s entry to life on guests\u2019 mobile devices. Walk of fame visitors will learn about honorees\u2019 lives through various forms of media, creating memories that can be revisited again and again upon returning home.<\/span><\/h4>\n
