1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As far as feedback goes from our halves presentation, we felt like we did a decent job showing off our progress so far, and we got a lot of useful feedback:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plus:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seemingly simple, but important topic in this area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019re exploring some interesting VR etiquette issues.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Door mechanics is very neat, well thought out.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Srujani\u2019s dress is fire 100% (Sahar)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Good choice putting portal outside.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Minus:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The current avatar choices seem like weirdly blended gender characters that don\u2019t quite read well. (Could go more simple, think of Nintendo Miis)<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your avatars aren\u2019t diverse, they all look like boys with lighter skin tone; how are you addressing identifiability and avoiding uncanny valley?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Avatars don\u2019t address customization or personalization features &#8211; are you doing lip sync too?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Could explore more general social cues on how you cue people it\u2019s time to go.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Portal outside of the door seems like a problematic choice in terms of interactions; coming and going is tricky.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Could also use lighting to reinforce the exit rather than a timer.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Explore roles of host and guest more (i.e. family, strangers, neighbors, etc.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The context for having conversations doesn\u2019t always seem considered well.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Need to explore how MMO\u2019s explored these issues.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not clear on playtesting data.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seems hard to test exvitation when your playtesters don\u2019t have a task they are planning to do after the guest leaves. Maybe introduce a scenario?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How do you plan on having a guest know that they should leave? What if they miss the exvitation clues? What if the host\/guest do not want to stop interaction on exvitation?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are the notes too text-heavy or hard to read?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After compiling this feedback, we decided to sit down and outline what we want our final product to look like at the end of the semester:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Documentation of playtests:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Playtest data (raw data)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conclusions\/Observations from each playtest (per prototype or per test??)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Video Archives<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transcription of interviews?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Refined timeline\/master diagram of entry\/exit.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Archive of design artifacts.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Final Product:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Host has a list of methods that they can choose for entry\/exit of the space as a showcase.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Categorize them based on different aspects &#8211; asynchronous, or best for family\/close friends, or non-committal visits, etc. Think difference between letter\/text\/phone call.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Host can choose which environment they want to be visited in &#8211; garden or hearth space.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We can use this to investigate the different social dynamics surrounding entry\/exit of spaces of varying privacy.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Guest should have a distinct home space to start from.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additional part of our timeline that is missing &#8211; gifting.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Props that can be picked up and rearranged &#8211; persistent in both spaces?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Users should be able to tell what objects are actually in the physical space.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interactions: Decide something and stick with it.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interaction doesn\u2019t have to be meaningful &#8211; it just needs to contextualize the exit.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keep 36 questions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scrapping garden interactions.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entry\/Exit<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Should work for both spaces.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At least one environment that is very well refined.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Refined hearth\/garden space layout: consider angle, position of chairs, host\/guest dynamic, etc. How to highlight what exists in which physical space.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aesthetic presentation, things that guests can look at and talk about.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Potential Question: \u201cHow will users in the future sync up with each other, etc?\u201d At the very least, we make the assumption that people will have a chair in the space.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have a lot of work ahead of us till finals, but we feel confident that we can pull through.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Week nine update: This week we have spent most of our time preparing for halves and formatting all of our information in a concise, easy to read fashion.
