Objectives

  • Separating the sense in VR and see how immersive it could be for players

Mechanics

  • Player sees things from the head perspective
  • Player controls the body’s movements to find head using reflection from mirrors

Based on Oculus Rift and its controller’s features, I researched for what’s novel in VR games, and what cannot be done without VR. I found most PC games have the view and control at the same screen, but VR can provide the player a separate feeling of control and sightseeing. Therefore, I designed a maze game that the player’s head and body are separate from each other, and player controls the body’s movement to find the head using the mirrors reflections. The player needs to look around to find the right slab leak repair in California with free preliminary inspections. The angle of the mirror to decide where the body is and how the maze formed.

Findings

  • The idea of guiding your body using the reflections in the mirror was well-received
  • Rather than the separating of senses, people want to see more of the puzzle and strategy aspect from using reflections in mirrors
